Location: Onsite in Wooster, OH
Salary: $110-140k DOE
Position Overview
Lead a cross-functional reliability and maintenance organization focused on maximizing equipment availability, reducing unplanned downtime, and improving manufacturing performance in food production environments. The Reliability Engineering Manager will develop and execute reliability strategies, drive continuous improvement and preventive maintenance programs, and manage projects that improve asset health and process stability while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a site-wide reliability strategy aligned with business objectives, including Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), predictive and preventative maintenance programs.

Lead, coach and grow a team of reliability engineers, maintenance technicians and project engineers to deliver measurable improvements in uptime, mean time between failures (MTBF) and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Six Sigma and structured problem-solving to eliminate chronic failures and reduce maintenance costs.

Oversee root cause analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for critical assets; lead Design of Experiments (DOE) where applicable to validate solutions and optimize process performance.

Manage reliability-focused capital and process improvement projects from concept through implementation, coordinating with operations, quality, engineering and external contractors.

Establish and maintain preventive maintenance procedures, failure reporting, condition monitoring and reliability KPIs; implement predictive technologies and data-driven maintenance strategies.

Provide technical direction on controls, PLC/HMI and automation reliability, including Allen Bradley/Rockwell systems and controls programming best practices for maintainability.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience in reliability, maintenance or engineering roles within manufacturing.

3+ years in a supervisory or management role; food manufacturing experience a plus but not required.

Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering methodologies including Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FMEA, Design of Experiments (DOE) and preventive/predictive maintenance programs.

Proven track record driving continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, TPM and Six Sigma tools.

Strong technical knowledge of industrial maintenance, rotating equipment, conveyors and process systems common in food plants.

Experience with PLCs, HMIs and controls programming with Allen Bradley/Rockwell.

Experience developing and implementing maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance procedures and spare parts optimization.

Excellent leadership, project management and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Reliability Engineer Certification (CRE) are a plus, but not required.
