Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Part-Time 2nd Shift (CILA)
Malcolm Eaton Enterprises is excited to open a new CILA home in Freeport and is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team.
Starting Pay: $19.80 per hour
Schedule:
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 29 hours per week. The schedule is primarily weekends, including holidays, with 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM shifts. Occasional weekday coverage may be required on 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 12:00 AM) based on staffing and program needs.
Job Description
As a Direct Support Professional, you will work in a residential setting supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your role is to assist individuals with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, and community inclusion.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting individuals with personal care and daily living activities.
- Preparing meals and assisting with household tasks.
- Supporting medication administration according to agency policies and training.
- Encouraging independence and teaching daily living skills.
- Assisting with community outings, recreational activities, appointments, and social events.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and completing required reports.
- Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive home environment.
- Working collaboratively with coworkers and the individuals' support teams to provide quality care.
Previous DSP or caregiving experience is preferred but not required.
DSP certification is preferred; however, Malcolm Eaton Enterprises is willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates compassion, reliability, and a commitment to supporting others.
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Illinois driver's license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass all required criminal background checks.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and the scheduled shift rotation.
- Ability to assist individuals with mobility and daily tasks as needed.
