Job Responsibilities
- Sets up manual weld machine or downloads program per set up sheet instructions.
- Verifies proper filler, tooling, and gas flow is prepared in the robot or staged in manual area per set up instructions.
- Reviews weld requirements from weld prints (size, spacing, location, etc.).
- Loads and locates parts into tooling per print and work instructions.
- Welds parts per customer provided prints.
- Removes weld spatter and scale from finished parts.
- Performs quality checks per set up sheet.
- Maintains welding equipment and sees that work area is orderly and clean.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
- Able to read and understand basic blueprints and weld instructions.
Education/Experience Requirements
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or
- One year related experience and/or training.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
- May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
