Tile Setter / Job Foreman
Location: Phoenix, AZJob Type: Full-TimePay: $32–$42 per hour, depending on experience and skill level
About the Position
We are a growing tile installation company serving the Phoenix metro area, and we are looking for an experienced Tile Setter / Job Foreman to join our team.
This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced tile setter who can produce high-quality work while also leading a crew, managing the day-to-day jobsite, solving problems, and taking ownership of the finished product.
We’re looking for someone who knows tile installation inside and out and can be trusted to get the job done correctly without constant supervision.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise tile installation crews on active job sites
- Perform high-quality tile installation, including floors, walls, showers, backsplashes, and large-format tile
- Manage projects from layout and preparation through installation, grouting, and final punch
- Read plans, layouts, specifications, and installation details
- Perform proper substrate preparation and waterproofing
- Establish layouts, control lines, transitions, slopes, and elevations
- Install large-format and specialty tile
- Perform accurate cuts using wet saws, grinders, and other tile-setting equipment
- Coordinate daily activities with general contractors, project managers, and other trades
- Monitor job progress and maintain production schedules
- Identify and resolve jobsite issues before they become costly problems
- Maintain high standards for quality, workmanship, cleanliness, and safety
- Train, direct, and help develop less-experienced installers
- Monitor material usage and communicate material needs
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Communicate professionally with contractors, customers, and other trades
- Complete jobs efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of professional tile-setting experience
- Strong knowledge of tile installation methods and best practices
- Proven ability to independently complete tile installations from preparation through final grout
- Extensive experience with showers, waterproofing systems, and substrate preparation
- Experience installing large-format tile
- Ability to read plans and understand job layouts
- Ability to lead and direct a tile crew
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation
- Professional communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Preferred
- Previous foreman, lead setter, or crew-lead experience
- Commercial construction experience
- Experience with Schluter, MAPEI, Laticrete, Bostik, or similar systems
- Familiarity with TCNA and ANSI tile installation standards
- Experience coordinating with general contractors and other trades

You should be able to walk onto a project, understand what needs to happen, organize the crew, identify problems, make good decisions, and keep the job moving without needing someone standing over your shoulder.
The right person takes pride in their work, holds themselves and their crew to a high standard, and understands that being a foreman means more than simply being the best setter on the crew.
Leadership experience is preferred, but proven tile-setting ability, reliability, judgment, and work ethic are critical.

Our compensation structure is designed to reward experienced tile setters and foremen who consistently deliver high-quality work, maintain production, lead their crews effectively, and keep projects moving.
