Join our dynamic team! As our childrens performing arts and specialty enrichment instructor, your passion for dance, cheer, musical theater, tumbling/gymnastics and/or specialty classes will inspire and engage children in a vibrant learning environment! This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead energetic activities that foster creativity, confidence, and teamwork. As an instructor, you will create a fun, safe space for students to explore their talents while developing essential skills through structured lessons and interactive play. Classes are on site at local community centers and elementary schools for preschool age groups as well as grades TK-5 in San Diego County held between the hours of 9:00am-7:45pm M, T, W, TH and/or F and/or Saturdays 9am-12:15pm depending on the day of the week with each class being 30 minutes to 1 hour each in length with opportunities for anywhere between 1-8 classes per morning, afternoon and/or evening based on your availability to teach each day. You do not need to be available every day/or time slot as we will plug you in based on your availability.
Compensation is on a sliding scale based on enrollment ranging from $25-$45 per each individual 30 min to 1 hour class plus compensation for gas for miles traveled roundtrip.
<Responsibilities>
- Lead engaging recreational, beginner level classes in dance, cheerleading, musical theater, tumbling/gymnastics or specialty arts, ensuring activities are fun, engaging, safe, and inclusive.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques.
- Follow lesson plans tailored to different age groups and skill levels, encouraging creativity and self-expression.
- Foster a supportive environment that promotes teamwork, confidence, and personal growth among students.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about class updates.
- Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate end of session performances that showcase student talents.
<Requirements>
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, tutoring, performing arts programs or stufios and/or recreational settings.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to lead energetic activities such as dance, cheer, musical theater and/or specialty arts projects.
- Experience with early childhood education is a plus.
