ABOUT BRINK SERVICES USA
Brink Services USA, is a newly established division of Brink BV. Brink Services specializes in supporting the North American Market with mold repair services, building new molds and automation support.
SUMMARY: This individual will accurately set up and operate both the CNC lathe and mill to fabricate and modify plastic injection mold components based on drawing specifications. This position reports to the Production Manager.
We are currently hiring for the day shift, which is Monday to Friday from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings to plan CNC programs, calculate correct dimensions, machine speeds, and feed rates.
- Build CAM programs utilizing Mastercam for both the CNC lathe and mill.
- Determine the sequence of machine operations, select the proper cutting tools, determine reference points, machine cutting paths, hole locations, compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures required to machine work pieces into the desired shapes.
- Work with mfg. team to ensure work throughput is improved and maximize machine tool life is achieved.
- Demonstrated ability to view and understand 3D renderings of injection molds, tolerances, and specifications.
- Interaction with management, engineering personnel, tool room personnel and shop floor employees.
- Sets up and operates a CNC 5 Axis Mill and lathe
- Load and edit control media to optimize and/or correct machine performance.
- Calculates and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control elements.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunction and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Through the use of precision measurement tools to verify conformance of work piece to specifications within tight tolerances.
- The proper maintenance of the machine and housekeeping of their work area.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5+ years of CAM programming experience, within a precision metal machining environment.
- Utilizing Mastercam.
- Experience in the injection mold making industry is an asset. Thin wall packaging mold experience, a plus!
- Strong computer skills – CAM, CAD, MS Office experience required.
- Proven knowledge of developing efficient machining programs for 3-axis and 5-axis precision machinery.
- Strong computer skills with advanced level experience in CAM programming.
- Strong mechanical aptitude is an asset.
- Minimum 2+ years of recent experience operating and programming a 5 Axis Mill.
- Minimum 3+ years of recent experience operating and programming a CNC lathe.
- Proven knowledge interpreting engineering drawings and use of hand measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
