Summary:
The Rice Runner in the Shipping Department operates machinery in order to properly pull rice from storage bins to packing machines according to type, variety and grade. This process involves knowledge in the proper use and operation of conveyors and elevators.
Duties:
- Operate and maintain conveyors, elevators and bin gates in order to remove rice according to variety and grade from storage bins.
- Responsible for running all equipment at capacity, as well as cleanliness of both equipment and work area
- Partner with Quality Control to ensure rice is correct and in spec, and notify supervisor of any issues
- Perform minor repairs on conveyors and elevators as needed using hand tools
- Must understand and follow company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Personnel Practices
- Must understand and explain the use and requirements of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work 8-12 hours per shift
- Keep area clean by sweeping and/or vacuuming as needed
- Be willing and physically capable of performing other tasks within different departments of the mill on a temporary basis as needed
- Abide by all safety regulations and standards established by Supreme Rice
- Must report all food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action
- Portion of this job may require you to lift material weighing 100 lb.
- Perform other duties directed by your Supervisor
- Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner
