Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work overnight shifts from 2:15p-9p. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, or those in assisted living environments. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health and safety.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging residents in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Support residents implementing behavior management techniques and maintaining a calm environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces.
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, emergency response plans
- Document incidents or changes in resident condition clearly and promptly for team communication.
- Drive residents when needed for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe transportation practices.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and behavior management.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is beneficial.
- Ability to work overnight shifts reliably while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and engage residents.
- Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation duties; must adhere to safety standards during driving activities. Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
