Construction Superintendent Healthcare & Commercial Projects
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities for healthcare, hospital, and commercial projects. The Superintendent will ensure safe, high-quality, ontime, and onbudget delivery by coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety and regulatory compliance (including OSHA 30), managing schedules, and maintaining strong communication with project stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have proven superintendent experience in healthcare environments and a solid understanding of infection control and hospital safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Direct and supervise all on-site construction operations, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades, vendors, and on-site labor to meet schedule and scope requirements.

Develop, maintain, and enforce daily and weekly construction schedules; proactively identify and resolve delays or conflicts.

Implement and enforce safety programs and protocols, including OSHA 30 requirements and site-specific safety plans; conduct daily safety briefings and inspections.

Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific regulations and requirements (e.g., ICRA/ICRA plans, patient safety, restricted access zones) on hospital projects.

Perform quality control inspections and address punchlist items to ensure work meets contract documents and specifications.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, owners, and facility representatives to communicate progress, resolve issues, and document changes.

Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, logs, RFIs, change directives, and as-built records.

Oversee material deliveries, storage, and site logistics to minimize waste and downtime.

Mentor and lead field staff; promote a collaborative work environment focused on continuous improvement and problem solving.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on healthcare/hospital and commercial projects.

Proven background in construction management, field supervision, and scheduling of complex building projects.

OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification required.

Working knowledge of healthcare construction protocols (ICRA/ICRA plans), infection control, and hospital facility coordination.

Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents; ability to read blueprints and perform takeoffs.

Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors, maintain project schedules, and enforce quality and safety standards.

Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills; comfortable working with diverse stakeholder groups.

Proficiency with project management and field reporting tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and MS Office suite.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; ability to work on-site and travel between project locations as required.

Relevant trade or construction degree, carpentry or trade background, or equivalent experience preferred.
