Cromwell Public Schools is looking for a Cook for Cromwell Middle School. This position assists in the preparation of food for school lunch programs as directed by the Cafeteria Manager; does related work as required and must be willing to fill in as needed in allareas, possibly in another school. Assists between lunches in a variety of duties. Ability to work with others.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in preparation of meals and serving of meals.
- assumes care of equipment used in the performance of work.
- Serves food as directed to meet the recipe specifications.
- Cleans Kitchen as needed.
- Maintains established departmental and district policies and procedures, objectives, quality
assurance program, and health and safety standards, and HACCP standards.
- Lifting is required
- Ability to participate and complete all required training.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be ServSafe certified or willing to get certified.
3. Knowledge of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food, including cleaning of
the kitchen area and cooking equipment. Must be willing to participate in a sanitation course.
4. Able to understand written material, rules, regulations, and apply the material to the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Standing:(Continuous) remain standing on one’s feet on hard surfaces.
2. Walking: (Frequent) moving from area to area.
3. Lifting: (Frequent) Raising or lowering an object 5lbs to 50 lb.
REPORTS TO: Cafe Manager, Food & Nutritional Coordinator, Building Administrator(s)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: $24.01 per hour, and benefits as outlined in the MEIU contract. Work hours: 7 AM to 1 PM.
