Part-Time | Varied Day Shifts
Hours: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
As a Respiratory Equipment Technician, you will support the Respiratory Department by managing equipment, supplies, inventory, and daily operational needs.
- Clean, disinfect, pasteurize, package, and distribute respiratory equipment.
- Stock, receive, organize, and distribute respiratory supplies and medical gases.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory and par management.
- Perform equipment pickup and delivery throughout the hospital while following infection control guidelines.
- Assist with ventilator and BiPAP setup and function checks under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the Biomedical Engineering team.
- Run daily department reports and maintain accurate records, logs, and statistics.
- Support staff, supervisors, and department leadership with operational and administrative needs.
- Maintain organized files, records, and supply inventories.
- Answer and route phone calls professionally and provide excellent customer service.
- Train and assist new employees and students when needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve department efficiency and workflow.
- Follow all safety, infection prevention, attendance, and Mercy Service Standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working with medical equipment and supplies.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional healthcare environment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer skills, including keyboarding.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- 1–2 years of college coursework.
- Background or coursework in biological sciences.
- Previous experience in inventory, supply chain, healthcare, or equipment management (helpful but not required).
