About the Role:
Watermark Restoration LLC, doing business as RestoPros of Columbus West and RestoPros of Dayton, is seeking a highly motivated, relationship driven Business Development Manager to help grow and lead the Columbus West territory under new ownership.
This is a high impact role for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing a market, working directly with customers, and helping create a strong local presence for a quickly growing restoration company.
This position will begin with a primary focus on business development, referral partner relationships, customer communication, and market growth. As the Columbus West business expands, this role is intended to grow into a broader leadership position with responsibility for local operations, technician coordination, and overall division performance.
The ideal candidate is a self starter who is comfortable visiting plumbers, property managers, insurance agents, contractors, real estate professionals, and other referral partners throughout the Columbus West market, generally west of Interstate 71. This person must be professional, organized, personable, and willing to be hands on in the early stages of building the territory.
This is not a desk only sales job. It is a market building leadership opportunity.
Role Purpose:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing revenue in the Columbus West market by developing referral relationships, generating qualified opportunities, supporting customer communication, and helping coordinate local field execution. This role also serves as a key bridge between Columbus customers, referral partners, the Columbus Lead Technician, and the Dayton based leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Relationship Development and Sales Growth
- Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships primarily with plumbers, while also developing relationships with property managers, insurance agents, contractors, real estate agents, commercial property owners, and other referral sources throughout the Columbus West market.
- Actively prospect and visit referral partners daily to create consistent awareness, trust, and referral opportunities for RestoPros.
- Serve as the local face of RestoPros in the Columbus West territory.
- Represent RestoPros professionally at networking events, association meetings, trade shows, community events, and business development opportunities.
- Follow up consistently with referral partners before, during, and after jobs to build loyalty and reinforce confidence in RestoPros.
- Assist with local marketing efforts, plumber campaigns, newsletters, events, and community outreach.
- Help protect and grow the Columbus West Google Business Profile by supporting strong customer service, local visibility, and review generation.
Lead Handling and Customer Support
- Receive qualified leads from referral partners, marketing efforts, or direct customer contact.
- Meet with customers when appropriate, explain the process, present available solutions, and secure signed work authorizations.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for many Columbus customers, helping them understand the mitigation process and feel supported during stressful property damage situations.
- Communicate with customers in a calm, professional, and helpful manner.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and assist with follow up communication, including requests for Google reviews when appropriate.
Operations Coordination and Team Support
- Coordinate closely with the Columbus Lead Technician to ensure strong communication, timely response, proper job handoff, and a positive customer experience.
- Work with the Dayton based leadership team to ensure job documentation, estimating, billing, customer communication, and operational standards are followed.
- Help manage and coordinate temporary labor, local subcontractors, and Dayton team support when needed.
- As the territory grows, assist with technician oversight, field coordination, equipment accountability, and local operational planning.
- Help establish a strong RestoPros culture in the Columbus West territory, built around professionalism, responsiveness, customer care, and accountability.
CRM, Reporting, and Accountability
- Track referral activity, customer interactions, sales pipeline, job opportunities, and follow up tasks in the company CRM or tracking system.
- Maintain accurate and current notes related to referral partner visits, customer conversations, lead status, and next steps.
- Participate in weekly leadership and sales meetings with the Dayton team to review leads, jobs, referral activity, customer issues, revenue, and territory growth.
- Communicate clearly with company leadership regarding market feedback, customer concerns, competitive activity, and opportunities for growth.
Growth Opportunity
This position is designed to grow as the Columbus West business grows. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop into the General Manager of the Columbus Division as the market reaches defined revenue, staffing, customer service, and operational milestones.

Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of proven business development, outside sales, relationship management, or business to business sales experience.
- Experience in restoration, plumbing, HVAC, construction, property management, insurance, facilities services, or a related industry is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Comfortable walking into businesses, introducing yourself, and developing long term referral relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong follow up habits and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while staying connected to the larger team.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, customer focused environment.
- Ability to communicate with customers during stressful situations with empathy, clarity, and confidence.
- Basic understanding of CRM systems, Microsoft Office, email, and mobile communication tools.
- Valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to travel daily throughout the Columbus West territory.
- Willingness to answer the phone when it rings and respond promptly to customer needs.
- Bachelor degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred, but not required with strong relevant experience.

Physical Requirements
- Ready to go first thing in the morning!
- Frequent driving throughout the assigned Columbus market.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during events, trade shows, presentations, and referral partner visits.
- Occasional lifting of 5 to 40 pounds, including event materials, displays, supplies, and marketing items.
- Manual dexterity for keyboarding, mobile device use, and CRM activity.
- Ability to walk job sites and meet customers or referral partners in residential, commercial, and field environments.
Additional Benefits
- This roles provides a base salary plus monthly sales commission. The salary range shown in the posting reflects the base plus commission. It is reasonably expected that a qualified and hard working BDM should earn well over $100,000 in the first year of employment.
