About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Millwright Mechanic to contribute to the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery. In this role, you will apply your expertise in mechanical systems, precision alignment, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance. Your proficiency in using precision instruments and your commitment to safety will be crucial to our success.
Responsibilities
- Install and assemble machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Dismantle, move, and position machinery using hoists, dollies, lifts, rollers, and rigging equipment to meet project needs.
- Achieve precise alignment of machinery components such as shafts, conveyors, motors, and gearboxes using micrometers, squares, and optical alignment tools.
- Secure components to foundations or supporting structures through bolting, welding, riveting, and fastening techniques.
- Support mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to construction and industrial site safety standards, including OSHA guidelines, to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operate machining equipment, such as lathes and mills, to fabricate or modify components as needed.
Qualifications
- Capable of performing physical tasks, including climbing, lifting heavy objects, and working in confined spaces.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and technical documents.
- Possess basic computer and communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
- Adaptable to working overtime or flexible hours as project requirements dictate.
- Experience as a millwright, mechanic, or industrial installer.
