American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

74-bed Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence
-
ED includes a 3-bed trauma bay and a secure unit for behavioral health patients
-
May float to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), a 22-bed extension of the ED where patients awaiting testing, consultations, or inpatient beds are staged
-
ETCU is fully telemetry-capable, with two negative pressure rooms and the ability to place the entire unit under negative pressure
-
Night shift: 7p–7a (3x12-hour shifts)
-
Every 3rd weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required as needed
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating required as needed, primarily to the ETCU
-
Pre-blocked scheduling is not approved
-
13-week assignment
-
Active PA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Minimum 2 years of ED experience required

Level I Trauma Center experience required

A supervisor reference from within the past 2 years is required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Manager interview is required as part of the selection process

Candidates will undergo a clinical review to assess fit prior to manager consideration

May care for COVID-positive patients

ETCU nurses provide inpatient-level care to inpatient holds and may be cross-trained to assist with specific ED tasks as needed
