Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Injection Molding Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components. Your expertise will ensure efficient production processes, adherence to safety standards, and continuous quality improvement. Duties
- Set up and calibrate injection molding machines according to engineering specifications and production requirements.
- Monitor machine operations, troubleshoot issues, and perform adjustments to optimize cycle times and product quality.
- Conduct routine inspections of molds, tooling, and equipment using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure parts meet design standards.
- Operate CNC programming tools for mold modifications or small adjustments when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and shift reports while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding (including MIG welding), and fabrication techniques for tooling repairs or modifications.
- Support quality control processes by inspecting finished parts for defects and ensuring compliance with specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with injection molding machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with CNC programming, CAM programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and press brake machines is highly desirable.
- Skilled in welding techniques such as MIG welding along with fabrication skills using hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality assurance.
- Ability to operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine control systems.
- Experience with machining processes including CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and related equipment.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to use precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers effectively.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly within a fast-paced production environment.
