Sensory Sprouts Pediatric Occupational Therapy is seeking a passionate, fun, and motivated Occupational Therapist (Contractor) to join our growing private practice in St. Petersburg, FL. This is a flexible, contract-based opportunity ideal for an OT who values creativity, independence, and providing highly individualized, play-based therapy.
At Sensory Sprouts, we specialize in a holistic, sensory-integrative approach to support children in developing functional skills across home, school, and clinic environments. Initial hours would be mostly school-based with opportunities to grow in other settings. We pride ourselves on creating meaningful connections with families while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in a fun and engaging way.
This role offers scheduling flexibility, autonomy in treatment planning, and the opportunity to be part of a supportive, child-centered practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized occupational therapy services to pediatric clients in clinic, home, and/or community settings
- Conduct evaluations and develop personalized treatment plans based on each child’s unique needs and goals
- Implement evidence-based, sensory-integrative interventions to address:
- Sensory processing challenges
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Self-regulation
- Activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Executive functioning and handwriting skills
- Feeding difficulties
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation (evaluations, daily notes, progress reports)
- Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers to provide education, strategies, and progress updates
- Collaborate with other professionals (teachers, therapists, etc.) as needed
- Uphold a fun, engaging, and supportive therapeutic environment aligned with Sensory Sprouts’ values
Qualifications
- Active Florida Occupational Therapist license (required)
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Experience working with pediatric populations preferred
- Knowledge of sensory integration principles (Ayres Sensory Integration training a plus)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Passion for working with children and families in a client-centered, play-based model
- Reliable transportation (for home/community-based sessions)
