Duties
- Lead and supervise all store activities, including sales, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service.
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees while providing ongoing training and development to enhance team skills.
- Manage employee schedules, shift assignments, and payroll processing to ensure optimal coverage and operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory control, purchasing, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities.
- Implement effective marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to attract customers and increase store traffic.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Utilize POS systems for sales transactions, cash handling, and reporting; maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
- Monitor store performance through retail math analysis, budgeting, and sales management to meet or exceed targets.
- Maintain a clean, organized store environment with proper merchandising standards and safety protocols.
- Foster a team-oriented culture by providing leadership in supervising staff performance and promoting positive communication.
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with demonstrated success in supervising teams.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations including inventory management, POS systems, merchandising, and cash handling.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and build rapport with customers and staff alike.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting training sessions.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts such as pricing strategies, sales analysis, and budgeting is essential.
- Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in a fast-paced retail setting is highly desirable.
