Summary
The IT Coordinator is responsible for managing day-to-day IT operations at the plant and serves as the primary point of contact for all IT-related needs, including help desk support, infrastructure reliability, and application support (including SAP).This role ensures that plant systems, networks, and applications operate securely, efficiently, and in compliance with enterprise IT standards, cybersecurity requirements, and technology governance frameworks established by Assan Alüminyum Digital Transformation ( The IT Governance Team). The IT Coordinator partners closely with plant leadership and enterprise IT stakeholders to support business operations, execute IT initiatives, and maintain system performance, security, and compliance. While maintaining high autonomy in daily operations, this role operates within a centralized IT governance model for strategic decisions, investments, and enterprise-level initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
Plant IT Operations & Support
· Serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, requests, and business needs within the plant
· Provide hands-on help desk support for hardware, software, network, and end-user issues
· Support core business applications, including SAP and plant-level systems (e.g., reporting tools, Level 2 systems, SQL data collection and reporting)
· Manage day-to-day IT operations to ensure system availability, security, and performance
· Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure including networks, servers, endpoints, and plant communication systems
Governance & Enterprise Alignment
· Ensure compliance with enterprise IT standards, cybersecurity policies, architecture principles, and governance frameworks established by Assan Alüminyum Digital Transformation
· Support the implementation and sustainment of enterprise IT initiatives (e.g., SAP, cybersecurity programs, infrastructure upgrades)
· Serve as the plant lead for IT security, including monitoring risks and implementing required controls in alignment with enterprise policies
· Participate in governance processes and ensure adherence to defined decision rights and approval structures
IT Coordination & Decision-Making Framework
· Coordinate with Assan Alüminyum Digital Transformation on:
o IT budget planning and approvals
o Vendor and partner selection and management
o IT project prioritization and execution
o Enterprise systems and technology standards
· Ensure that significant IT decisions, including:
o Technology investments
o Major vendor selections
o Enterprise-level projects
are reviewed and aligned through enterprise governance channels prior to commitment
· Manage all engagement with Assan Bilişim (IT Execution Team) through the Assan Alüminyum Digital Transformation Department (IT Governance Team)
Projects, Vendors, and Financial Oversight
· Develop, manage, and track the plant IT budget, forecasts, and spend reporting in alignment with governance requirements
· Support plant projects as a participant or project lead, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT priorities
· Manage local IT vendors, contractors, and service providers in coordination with enterprise governance expectations
· Ensure vendor activities and contracts comply with enterprise standards and approval requirements
Collaboration & Integration
· Coordinate with regional and global IT teams for incident resolution, change management, and system improvements
· Capture, track, and manage IT incidents, service requests, and changes using IT service management processes (ITIL)
· Ensure plant systems meet service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
· Partner with plant automation and OT teams to ensure accurate data flow, reporting, and system integration
· Participate in plant leadership meetings to represent IT priorities and support operational needs
· Communicate IT updates, changes, and initiatives clearly to plant users and leadership
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
· Three (3) or more years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, or manufacturing IT environments.
· Experience providing help desk and end‑user support in a business or industrial setting.
· Familiarity with enterprise applications such as SAP or similar ERP systems.
· Experience working with IT infrastructure, networks, and system administration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong knowledge of IT support, infrastructure, and troubleshooting practices.
· Understanding of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
· Experience supporting ERP systems (SAP preferred) and reporting tools.
· Knowledge of network fundamentals, cybersecurity principles, and system monitoring.
· Ability to manage IT incidents, service requests, and change processes effectively.
· Strong coordination and collaboration skills when working with regional and global IT teams.
· Ability to manage vendors, contractors, and external service providers.
· Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Financial awareness related to IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non‑technical users.
· Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a plant environment.
Working Conditions

· Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments.
· Frequent interaction with plant employees, leadership, and corporate IT teams.
· Exposure to industrial conditions including noise, heat, and production equipment when on the plant floor.
· Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in operational areas.
· May require occasional after‑hours support, on‑call availability, or extended hours for system issues or project implementations.
