Marketing & Communications Specialist

We’re looking for a creative, driven storyteller to help shape how the world experiences Deadwood.
This full-time, in-person position is responsible for developing the voice of the Deadwood Chamber’s social media channels, designing promotional materials, and producing engaging photo, video, and written content that promotes Deadwood tourism, events, and local businesses.
This role blends creative content creation with hands-on marketing execution in a fast-paced tourism and events environment. The ideal candidate is highly creative, visually skilled, and comfortable capturing and sharing stories across digital and print platforms.
A successful candidate requires independent judgment and advanced time management skills to balance multiple concurrent projects, deadlines, and event-driven priorities in a fast-paced tourism environment.

- Website content updates & tourism promotion
- Event marketing support, event operations support, on-site content capture of photos and video
This position requires regular attendance at community events, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays year-round.
Location: Deadwood, SD (in-person only)
Salary: Starting at $45,000+ depending on experience
