Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have lived experience with mental health or addiction challenges and will utilize this experience to support others on their journey to recovery. As a Peer Coach, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance to individuals facing similar challenges. Your unique perspective will help foster hope, resilience, and empowerment among clients.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one support and coaching to individuals in recovery from mental health or substance use issues.
- Utilize crisis intervention and management techniques to assist clients during challenging situations.
- Facilitate group sessions focused on skill-building, coping strategies, and motivational interviewing.
- Assist clients in navigating behavioral health resources and services, including EHR systems for documentation.
- Develop individualized action plans with clients to set achievable goals and monitor progress.
- Serve as a mentor by sharing personal experiences and insights that promote healing and growth.
- Collaborate with other professionals in social work, mental health counseling, and addiction counseling to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines while providing support.
Qualifications
- Lived experience with mental health or addiction challenges is essential.
- Strong understanding of crisis intervention and crisis management principles.
- Background in behavioral health, mental health counseling, or addiction counseling is preferred.
- Experience with motivational interviewing techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for effective documentation is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect empathetically with clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
