Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary and high school learners in resource room settings. Multiple contract positions are available, providing an opportunity to work alongside dedicated teams in a supportive and inclusive educational environment from August 31, 2026, to June 10, 2027.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver direct and indirect instructional support to students with disabilities within a positive, inclusive atmosphere
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies for sensory and perceptual skills, language development, cognition, memory, and motor skills
- Adapt instruction using evidence-based methods and assistive technologies to meet individualized student goals
- Implement and monitor IEPs, promoting both academic success and socially appropriate behaviors through positive reinforcement
- Engage students with a balanced approach—combining direct teaching, guided practice, and independent work
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure student growth and compliance with educational standards
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education and valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as required by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE); or
- Bachelor’s Degree with current enrollment in a state-approved teacher certification program recognized by MDE
- Preferred: Previous special education experience in a school setting
- Preferred Endorsements: Learning Disabilities (SM) and/or Cognitive Impairment (SA)
These roles are exclusively onsite, offering full-time hours (37.5 per week) across elementary and high school campuses in a collaborative and resource-rich environment. Caseload details will be matched to your site assignment, impacting a variety of learners at different grade levels.
