We are a custom job shop that has been in business since 1978. We are looking for someone with good attention to detail to fill a full-time position as a welder/fabricator. The employee will be using MIG, TIG, and handheld laser welder to weld parts per blueprint. Employee will also be helping in other areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine weld specifications.
- Utilize MIG, TIG, and laser welding equipment to assemble and weld metal components.
- Perform shop math calculations to ensure accurate measurements.
- Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
- Help with other fabrication processes when needed.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Skilled in MIG & TIG welding w/experience
- Experience with handheld laser welder a plus (Miller Optx)
- Must be willing and able to learn laser welding
- Fit & weld .040"-.375" thick carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Must be able to check & hold tolerances while fitting and welding
- Set up & adjust equipment as needed for job
- Grind, clean, and blend welds
- Read drawings & tape measure (down to 1/32”) and do shop math
- Experience with fabrication equipment a plus
- Must be able to work independently & with other team members
- Must have good attention to detail
- Must have good time management skills
- On-site weld test will be required
