POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Housing Maintenance (youth) assists in completion of the daily ground’s maintenance for the housing facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains building accessibility and appearance by washing windows, picking up papers and trash, emptying trash cans, recycling materials, painting, and maintaining the lawn and surrounding landscape.
2. Assists Maintenance team with work orders and provide basic repairs for all BMHA dwellings and buildings.
3. Keeps maintenance areas neat and orderly, and reports supply orders to Maintenance Manager.
4. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
5. Responsible for learning and following daily policies and procedures for the Bay Mills Housing Authority.
6. Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Director.
7. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand. Requires frequent to continual standing/walking, reaching, bending, and carrying items of up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to marked changes in temperature and humidity and moving machinery, moderate noise, heat, cold, smoke, dust, pollen and other allergens,
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be at least 16 years of age.
2. Must have a maintained at least a “C” average on last report card required.
3. Experience in grounds keeping, maintenance, or landscaping desired.
4. Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance and speak, understand and write in the English language.
5. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.
