Retail Associate — Scuba Shop
Aquatic Dreams | Part-Time | $18–22/hour + 3% commission on gross sales | Weekends required
About the Role
Aquatic Dreams is looking for a Retail Associate to help run the floor of our scuba shop. This isn't a stand-behind-the-register job, you'll own product knowledge, build relationships with customers, work directly with vendors, and have real say in how our shop looks and feels. If you're the person your dive buddies already call for gear advice, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of the retail floor : day-to-day upkeep, organization, and presentation
- Learn our product lines inside and out, from regulators to BCDs to dive computers, so you can speak to them with real authority
- Contact and coordinate with vendors on orders, restocks, and new product lines
- Actively engage customers on the floor , not just answering questions, but checking in to make sure their gear and experience are actually working for them
- Follow up with customers after purchases to make sure they're happy and set up for their next dive
- Help shape product displays and merchandising decisions on the floor
What We're Looking For
- Open Water certification (minimum) — we'll consider strong, passionate candidates working toward this on a case-by-case basis
- Genuine enthusiasm for diving , you don't just sell gear, you use it
- Comfort talking to people and building relationships, not just transactions
- Reliable weekend availability
- Retail or sales experience is a plus, but a diver's eye for gear matters more
Pay & Perks
- $18–22/hour, based on experience
- 3% commission on gross sales
