About the Role
TechCentric is a managed service provider based in Providence, RI. We support small and mid-size businesses across the Northeast, managing their technology so they can focus on running their business.
This is a hybrid role, part proactive systems ownership and part hands-on automation work. We are looking for a technically solid MSP engineer who is as comfortable working through a tricky escalation as they are thinking about how that same issue could be prevented, or automated away entirely.
The role begins with a deliberate onboarding period on the help desk. This is not a stepping stone, it is the foundation. Understanding how our clients operate, what tools drive our environment, and where friction lives day to day is what makes someone effective in the permanent role. If you see help desk time as beneath you, this is not the right fit.
What You Will Do
Help Desk (Onboarding and Ongoing)
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex or recurring tickets, giving you direct exposure to our client base and tool stack
- Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server, and networking environments
- Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams through our PSA system
- Notice patterns, document recurring issues, and flag candidates for automation
Proactive Systems
- Monitor and respond to RMM alerts to keep client environments healthy and within SLA
- Manage patching, backups, endpoint health, and security tooling across the client base
- Maintain documentation and contribute to a strong internal knowledge base
Automation
- Identify repetitive, manual, or high-friction workflows, internal and client-facing, that are strong candidates for automation
- Execute scoped automation tasks assigned by the Director of Systems & Automation, including API integrations, workflow builds, and custom scripts
- Submit work for review before production deployment, this is a collaborative process, not solo ownership
What You Bring
- 3 to 5 years of MSP experience (required)
- Proficiency with PSA and RMM platforms (ConnectWise, Autotask, NinjaRMM, or similar)
- Strong Microsoft 365 and Windows Server administration skills
- Hands-on experience with automation or integrations such as PowerShell, Power Automate, REST APIs, or Make
- A process-oriented mindset, you notice inefficiencies and think about how things could work better
- Solid documentation habits and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort working within a collaborative review process, you execute well with direction and take feedback constructively
Nice to Have
- Experience with low-code or no-code platforms (Rewst, Power Automate, Make, n8n)
- Familiarity with JSON, webhooks, or structured data
- A scripting background (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Performance and compensation review at 90 days
- PTO plus paid holidays
- 401(k) with 4% company match
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Mileage reimbursement
