14yo rising 9th grader, Rohan, at Nazareth needs help with academics, executive functions, motivation, metacognition, and managing anxiety and ADHD (inattentive; has a 504).
Tutor will:
- Do daily check-ins to review assignments, deadlines, priorities, etc (executive functions)
- Assist with high school level MATH (Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus) and PHYSICS
(And, if possible, also English essays, grammar, reading comp, lit analysis, etc.) all at the Honors and AP level
- Collaborate with other service providers to provide holistic support for the student, especially as it relates to implementing sustainable systems for organization, time management, scaffolding large tasks, and focus
Start ASAP and every week for the next 1+ years.
- For the summer (now through mid-August): 10-18 hours/week with 1.5-3 hours/day M-Th (between 11am-7pm) and 2-3 hours on Sat/Sun (anytime).
- During the school year: 11-21 hours/week with 1.5-3 hours/day M-F (usually after 4pm) and 2-3 hours/day Sat & Sun (availability depends on sports schedules).
- In-person at/near dad's home in Burr Ridge (near the intersection of Plainfield & 55th) and at/near mom's home in Hinsdale (near the intersections of Adams & Chestnut).
Starting pay is $45/hr since these are A LOT of hours. Pay will likely increase ~$2/hr each year starting June 2027.

We are hiring 1099 Independent Contractors (without a non-compete). You will be told the preferred location, days, and times as well as the hourly pay before you choose to work with an offered student.
Tutors must:
- be in-person in Chicago and/or surrounding suburbs
- have at least 1 year of teaching/tutoring experience
- have a college degree or be enrolled in college
Subjects needed (in order of increased hourly pay):
- Elementary school: academics and enrichment
- Middle school: academics, enrichment, and high school placement test prep (ISEE/HSPT/SEHS)
- High school: academics, enrichment, ACT/SAT, and college applications
- College: academics, enrichment, GRE/GMAT/MCAT/LSAT/etc, and graduate school / job applications
All sessions must include lessons in (free training will be offered):
- Metacognition (self-assessment, self-monitoring, mindfulness, focus, etc.)
- Executive Functions (time management, planning, prioritizing, organization, independence, etc.)
- Soft Skills (critical thinking, creative problem solving, innovation, advocacy, collaboration, leadership, etc.)
Additional details:
- Pay: $25+/hr (depends on grade level, location, and number of students; average is $40/hr)
- Hours: Coordinated between the client and tutor (most students want to meet evenings and/or weekends)
- Locations: In-person at/near students’ homes/schools in/near Chicago, DFW, Houston, or Austin
