Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of rebar, formwork, and concrete pouring to ensure structural integrity.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently for various construction tasks.
- Support masonry work, including bricklaying, stucco application, and tile laying.
- Help with heavy lifting of materials such as concrete blocks, lumber, and steel components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to follow project specifications accurately.
- Perform site cleanup, organize materials, and prepare work areas for ongoing tasks.
- Support carpentry tasks like trim carpentry, framing, metal stud framing, and renovation work.
- Assist with roofing installation and restoration projects to ensure weatherproofing and durability.
- Operate heavy equipment such as mixers, concrete pumps, or forklifts when trained and certified.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure construction environment at all times.
Requirements
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in related trades is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential!
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with construction estimating is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks consistently throughout the day.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic construction techniques including concrete finishing and plastering.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings accurately.
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience is advantageous for transporting materials or equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
