Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collect accurate data on client behaviors, responses, and progress to inform treatment adjustments
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting, to enhance independence
- Support clients during therapy sessions by teaching communication, social, academic, and self-care skills
- Maintain detailed and confidential medical documentation, records, and care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of interventions
- Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages client engagement and growth
Requirements
- Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental challenges
- Strong skills in data collection, documentation, and medical record keeping
- Familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills for working with clients, families, and team members
- Certification as an RBT
- Experience as an RBT
