GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reports to the Town Administrator and provides oversight, supervision, and management of the overall operations of the Public Works Department and its divisions. The essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position are indicative of the daily activities that the position is expected to fulfill with minimal supervision or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide oversight, supervision, and management of all Public Works operations demonstrating a positive attitude and progressive actions through the display of professionalism, courtesy, and appropriate tact and discretion in all interactions with other employees and with the public.
Manages departmental purchasing, receiving and asset management
Participate in public meetings including those of the Board of Trustees.
Maintain electronic documentation
Lead Safety Coordinator for Public Works
Coordinate and engage in multi-Agency development and planning
Oversee and work with engineers and contractors to ensure successful completion of Public Works Projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Computer Skills, Microsoft office, Phone apps and basic measurements
Administrative understanding
Leadership and Communication skills, both oral and written
Knowledge of Water, Wastewater, solid waste, and streets maintenance operations
Planning and scheduling skills
Organization skills
Record keeping
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Five years experience in Public Works operations and High School diploma of GED equivalent or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Public Service or Government experience preferred
Background in Construction or like field preferred
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
