MainePERS is seeking a Retirement Services Clerk to support the accurate and timely processing of retirement-related requests and documentation. This position plays an important role in protecting member information and benefits by carefully reviewing documents, identifying discrepancies and potential fraud, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with established procedures.

Process retirement applications, rollover paperwork, tax withholding, electronic fund transfers, and other required forms for completeness and accuracy.

Review documentation and information for errors, discrepancies, inconsistencies, and potential indicators of fraud, and appropriately escalate concerns.

Provide general information and forms to members and the public by phone, email, mail, and route questions to appropriate staff.

Schedule virtual and telephone meetings with members and staff.

Process returned mail and research and update contact information using available resources.

Generate reports and workflows from the Pension Administration System to support Retirement Services operations.

Prepare correspondence, forms, and other documents according to established procedures.

Verify the accuracy of work completed by peers and maintain accurate records and files.

Assist in preparing informational packets for employer orientations,

Scheduling virtual informational retirement sessions,

Assist with the documentation and creation of training materials for Retirement Services Clerk role.

Protect confidential member information and ensure assigned work is completed accurately and timely.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: Begins at $42,348 if annualized
