Job Summary
We are seeking two dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatchers to join our Sherman, MS logistics team. One position will be a midnight shift from 10:00 pm - 6:30 am and the other will be an afternoon shift from 2:30pm - 11:00pm. The ideal candidates will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of freight, and maintaining communication with drivers and clients. This role is crucial in optimizing our transportation management systems and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Duties
- Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely assignment of loads to drivers.
- Utilize GPS and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and monitor delivery progress.
- Communicate effectively with drivers regarding routes, schedules, and any changes in plans.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including freight details and driver assignments.
- Address any issues or delays promptly to minimize disruption in service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management is preferred.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems and GPS technology.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of freight operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Proficient in using software applications related to logistics and dispatching.
- Advanced Excel skills
