The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) protects and serves California consumers while ensuring a competent and fair marketplace. DCA educates consumers and protects professionals from unfair competition by unlicensed practitioners.
DCA is a unique and dynamic department consisting of 36 different boards, bureaus, a commission, and a program that license and regulate more than 3.4 million licensees in more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations, and permits. The Medical Board of California (MBC) goal is to foster a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion within our Department, that actively invites the contribution and participation of all people, and is representative of the varied identities and different perspectives in California. MBC is a state governmental agency established by law to protect the public by regulating the practice of physicians and surgeons and other allied healthcare providers. The incumbent must have initiative, good judgment, prioritization of multiple projects, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, members of the public, and display excellent customer service skills. Ability to operate a computer, ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations to specific situations, ability to follow oral and written instruction and established procedures, ability to gather and analyze facts and evidence; reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations and participate effectively in interviews. Ability to prepare typed documents and accurate detailed reports clearly and concisely, ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting departmental performance expectations.
