Job Summary
The Workforce Initiatives and Special Projects Coordinator supports Central Valley Health Network (CVHN) in the implementation and administration of grant-funded workforce development initiatives. This position plays a key role in assisting Program Directors with projects that strengthen the health workforce pipeline, including health career exploration programs, training opportunities, and partnerships with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) across the region. The coordinator will work closely with staff, partners, and participants to ensure smooth operations and meaningful engagement throughout the network and contribute to the success of community health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support
- Assist with coordination of workforce development initiatives
- Coordinate meetings and trainings with health center staff, students, and community partners
- Support Program Directors with grant reporting, data collection, and documentation
- Track program progress and program expenditures and assist with evaluation and continuous improvement efforts
· Support scheduling, communication, and tracking of participation across CVHN sites and programs
Special Projects Assistance
- Provide assistance with planning and executing logistics for a variety of CVHN-led initiatives and events. This may include conferences, educational programs, community outreach efforts, and other special projects
- Provide administrative and event support including materials prep, registration, and follow-up.
Communications & Outreach
- Post upcoming trainings, webinars, and professional development opportunities on the CVHN website
- Serve as the liaison for CVHN Job Board
- Create outreach and promotional materials using Canva and other design tools
- Manage social media content and engagement across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
- Edit and publish blogs and program highlights
- Collaborate with website developers to ensure content is current and aligned with branding
- Implement CVHN’s communications strategy across digital platforms
Community Partnerships
- Assist with communication with FQHCs and other stakeholders to support program goals
- Collaborate with CVHN staff and external partners to strengthen workforce initiatives
- Support member committees and foster leadership development
Team Collaboration
- Provide general support to CVHN departments and staff, including scheduling, meeting prep, and note-taking.
- Attend internal and external meetings to stay informed and contribute to ongoing projects.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, social work, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of related professional experience in program coordination, health education, or community outreach
Desired Skills & Qualifications
· Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage diverse audiences
· Ability to work collaboratively with health center staff and community partners
· Proficiency in Canva and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
· Comfortable using digital tools to create visual content and manage online communications
· Knowledge of FQHCs and their role in serving underserved populations
· Experience working with grant-funded programs, especially those focused on health education or community development
· Experience in an office or administrative setting
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
· Experience volunteering, interning, or working in a healthcare or nonprofit setting
· Experience planning events
Work Schedule & Location
- Full-time position: typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Based in CVHN’s Fresno office with remote hours available
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel for special events, trainings, and site visits to member health centers throughout the CVHN region (may include overnight travel)
- Participation in community service projects and events as needed
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
Physical Demands
- Ability to transport materials and routinely move equipment or supplies weighing up to 30 lbs.
