Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician / Electronics Technician to support and maintain automated manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems to ensure all production machinery operates at peak efficiency.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong experience with PLC systems, industrial controls, and automated production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and electronic issues on production machinery
- Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical components and control systems
- Work with PLCs (ladder logic), HMIs, VFDs, PID loops, encoders, and servo systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and maintain accurate documentation
- Complete job reports and communicate repair status effectively
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime
- Ensure all work is performed safely, including strict adherence to lockout/tagout procedures
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
- Experience working with automated machinery and production equipment
- Basic math and measurement skills (tape measure, meters, calipers, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed
Preferred:
- Technical degree or certification in Electrical Technology, Electronics, or related field
- Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
Work Environment
- Industrial setting with heavy machinery
- Non-climate-controlled facility (heat, dust, noise)
- Occasional outdoor work
- Overtime and on-call work may be required
Safety Requirements
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO)
- Wear required PPE at all times (helmet, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or injuries promptly
