Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable General Construction Worker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be an essential part of building and maintaining infrastructure projects, ensuring that work sites are safe, efficient, and aligned with project specifications. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and setup of construction sites, including site clearing and erosion control measures
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute tasks accurately
- Operate power tools and equipment safely for tasks such as cutting, drilling, and material handling
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of materials, tools, and equipment to support various phases of construction projects
- Follow all workplace safety regulations, including OSHA safety standards, respiratory protection protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support erosion control efforts by installing barriers, silt fences, and other measures to prevent soil erosion during construction activities
- Conduct routine equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal operation of tools and machinery
- Climb ladders or scaffolding safely to reach elevated work areas as needed for construction or inspection tasks
- Assist with implementing industrial construction procedures that require mechanical knowledge and technical skill
Experience
- Prior experience working in industrial or commercial construction environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, or construction plans accurately
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards is essential
- Experience with heavy lifting, manual handling, and the operation of power tools or equipment is required
- Familiarity with erosion control techniques and environmental safety practices is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical schematics effectively
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
