General Responsibilities:
This position will work with a team to provide maintenance services to all Goodwill SWMI locations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to- planning repair projects, painting, preventative maintenance schedules, contributing to the budgeting process, and helping to identify future capital spending. They will work with the Director of Facilities and store managers to resolve issues in accordance with business priorities.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Functions:
- Provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance related to carpentry, drywall, electrical, flooring, generators, HVAC, lighting, painting, etc.
- Maintenance team responsibilities include: Conduct and document regular facility inspections.
- Perform the maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds and related equipment ensuring that all preventative maintenance is completed in a timely manner in accordance with codes and company requirements.
- Manage construction, facility refurbishment and renovations projects at various sites as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
- Provide prompt response to requests and issues from occupants and internal customers.
- Provide after-hours support to retail locations in emergency situations.
- Develop, foster, and maintain good contractor and vendor relationships.
Qualifications:
- Requires 4+ years of demonstrated experience in building maintenance/construction experience/mechanical aptitude.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Independent transportation to and from work.
- Basic Computer skill for emails, documentation uploads and reports.
- Physical abilities to independently perform maintenance duties, including the ability to stoop, bend, stand, push, pull, and lift moderate to heavy objects.
- Must possess a Valid Michigan driver’s license with good driving record. Must be insurable on company vehicles.
- No convictions for theft, larceny, burglary, or related offenses.
Education:
- The individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- HVAC certification is a preferred.

- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and theft-related background check.
