Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets through effective coaching, training, and supervision.
- Oversee daily store operations including inventory management, merchandising, and stock replenishment to ensure optimal product presentation.
- Manage customer interactions with professionalism, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through excellent service and communication skills.
- Handle cash register operations including cashiering, cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and balancing registers accurately.
- Coordinate purchasing activities, pricing strategies, and inventory control to maximize profitability and minimize stock discrepancies.
- Supervise shift management by organizing schedules, delegating tasks, and ensuring operational efficiency throughout each shift.
- Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting efforts, and training & development initiatives to build a strong retail team.
- Implement merchandising plans and marketing strategies to boost store visibility and sales performance.
- Maintain organizational standards by performing bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting tasks, and administrative duties as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and store policies while fostering a positive team environment focused on leadership and collaboration.
Experience
- Proven experience in retail sales management or assistant management roles within the retail industry.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with a track record of leading successful teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of retail math including pricing, sales management, inventory control, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued for diverse customer engagement.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, inventory management software, and wireless sales is preferred.
- Experience in employee orientation, interviewing techniques, recruiting processes, payroll administration, bookkeeping, and operational management is advantageous.
- Prior grocery store or retail industry experience enhances understanding of retail operations and customer service excellence.
