Job Overview
Miramontes Construction is seeking an experienced and driven Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up and remodel Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) construction projects. This position is responsible for managing daily field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring jobsite safety, and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Our projects include Burger King and other commercial/QSR developments, requiring strong leadership, fast-paced coordination, and a hands-on approach to field management.
The ideal candidate has experience leading commercial or restaurant construction projects and understands the unique scheduling and operational demands of the QSR industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day field operations for ground-up and remodel QSR construction projects
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and vendors onsite
- Maintain project schedules and sequencing to ensure timely completion
- Conduct daily jobsite planning and coordination meetings
- Ensure subcontractors perform work according to:
- Plans and specifications
- Quality standards
- Safety requirements
- Project schedules
- Coordinate inspections and maintain inspection readiness
- Monitor site logistics, deliveries, and material staging
- Verify completed work and maintain punch list progress
- Track daily production and jobsite activity reports
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, Owners, Architects, and Engineers
- Maintain clear communication with clients and project stakeholders
- Proactively identify and resolve field conflicts and schedule impacts
- Enforce OSHA and company safety requirements
- Manage project closeout, final inspections, and turnover documentation
QSR-Specific Responsibilities
- Manage fast-track restaurant construction schedules
- Coordinate sequencing between:
- Site work
- Utilities
- Concrete
- Structural steel
- Framing
- MEP trades
- Kitchen and hood installation
- Equipment vendors
- Franchise-required inspections and turnover items
- Coordinate with restaurant vendors and specialty trades, including:
- Kitchen equipment suppliers
- CaptiveAire/hood systems
- Refrigeration contractors
- Drive-thru and signage vendors
- Maintain operational awareness of franchise standards and owner expectations
- Support aggressive project schedules while maintaining safety and workmanship
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of Superintendent or field leadership experience in commercial construction
- Experience managing ground-up commercial projects
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Architectural plans
- Civil drawings
- Structural drawings
- MEP plans
- Strong scheduling and coordination experience
- Knowledge of OSHA and construction safety practices
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
Preferred:
- Experience with QSR or restaurant construction
- Experience with Burger King, retail, or franchise construction environments
- Understanding of site utilities, concrete, and commercial building systems
- Experience using:
- Procore
- Buildertrend
- Bluebeam
- Microsoft Project or scheduling software
