American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health assignment requiring at least 1 year of home health or clinical experience and an active OT license.

Home health setting serving adult patients ages 18 and up
-
Caseload averages 4-6 patients per day with most visits occurring in patients' homes
-
Occasional clinic visits scheduled weekly for 1-2 patients
-
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)

No weekend requirement, though weekend availability can be arranged if desired
-
No on-call responsibilities

Coverage area includes Beltsville and Montgomery areas

Charting completed using Kinnser/WellSky system, must be completed on-site rather than at home
-
13-week contract length

Active Occupational Therapist state license required in hand at time of consideration (license required if applicable)

Minimum 1 year of experience in Home Health/Homecare, or 1 year of clinical experience overall

Acute care background also considered favorable

Current BLS certification required
-
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

OASIS experience preferred but not required

WellSky Home Health charting experience is a plus

Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills required

Complete occupational therapy evaluations, reassessments, and discharge visits
-
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and functional needs
-
Assess home environments and recommend adaptive equipment and safety modifications
-
Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, energy conservation, home safety, adaptive equipment, and activities of daily living

Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed

Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
