Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on classic vehicles using specialized automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Repair and overhaul powertrain components, including engines (gasoline and diesel), transmissions, and drivetrain systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct detailed engine repairs, including rebuilding engines, replacing worn parts, and fine-tuning to factory specifications.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and electrical schematics to troubleshoot complex electrical systems such as lighting, ignition, and aftermarket accessories.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to execute repairs safely and efficiently.
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as alignment adjustments, brake servicing, suspension work, and body repairs to restore vehicles to showroom condition.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic procedures for each vehicle.
Experience
- Proven dealership or automotive repair shop experience working on classic or vintage vehicles is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive engine systems, electrical systems, and vehicle operation standards.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and software for accurate troubleshooting.
- Experience with diesel engine repair is a plus but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is valued.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics accurately.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, heavy lifting techniques, welding skills, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
