COMPANY MANAGER
The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is seeking a full-time, year-round Company Manager to help support the talented artists who bring our stage to life.
As an essential member of the Theatre’s team, the Company Manager serves as the primary liaison for visiting artists, helping to create a smooth, welcoming, and well-organized experience from arrival through departure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of organization and hospitality and enjoys working in a creative, fast-paced environment at one of South Florida’s premier professional regional theatres.
Key Responsibilities
Artist Relations & Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all visiting artists, including Equity actors, stage managers, and designers engaged under LORT agreements with AEA, USA (United Scenic Artists), SDC.
- Coordinate all aspects of visiting artist travel, including flights, airport pick-ups/drop-offs, ground transportation, and local logistics
- Reserve and assign rental cars to visiting artists upon arrival
- Prepare and distribute comprehensive welcome packages, housing information, expense reimbursement documentation, and access credentials
- Support first rehearsals, company orientations, and meet-and-greets
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with artists, agents, and internal departments throughout the engagement
Artist Housing
- Oversee and manage artist housing across multiple theatre-owned and partnering units
- Coordinate apartment assignments, turnovers, cleaning schedules, and inventory
- Ensure all units are fully furnished, stocked, and maintained to a standard consistent with a LORT B+ organization
- Respond promptly to maintenance, service, or quality concerns
Hospitality & Events
- Coordinate hospitality for tech rehearsals and production weeks
- Plan and execute opening and closing night events, company gatherings, and donor-facing artist events, including overseeing all opening night parties
- Support staff with artist logistics and details related to Island Theatre productions and one-night Limited Engagements as needed
- Coordinate artist participation and support for the New Works Festival, including scheduling, communications, hospitality, and housing/travel as needed
- Assist in the coordination of artist-related activities for the Season Announcement Party and other signature Theatre events
- Coordinate and supervise volunteer support for events and artist services
- Help facilitate any additional artist activities as needed throughout the season
Contracting & Union Compliance
- Prepare and send out Actor offers to actors and/or agents immediately after auditions
- Prepare, process, and track contracts for actors, stage managers, and designers under AEA, USA (United Scenic Artists), SDC and non-union contracts
- Serve as a knowledgeable internal resource on LORT B+ collective bargaining obligations, minimums, and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation across departments to ensure smooth onboarding and compliance for all company members
- Coordinate expense reimbursement processes, ensuring proper receipt collection and documentation in accordance with Theatre policy
- Liaise with union representatives as needed
Auditions & Administrative Support
- Coordinate EPA and ECC auditions, callbacks, and local casting logistics in compliance with union requirements
- Prepare audition materials and scheduling in close collaboration with producers and directors
- Maintain production contact sheets, company rosters, and organizational documents across the season
- Create and manage budgets for auditions and artist travel and transportation
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in company management, stage management, or arts administration at a professional regional theatre, preferably LORT or equivalent
- Working knowledge of AEA, USA (United Scenic Artists), SDC, and LORT collective bargaining agreements strongly preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work professionally and discreetly with artists, agents, donors, and staff at all levels
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Flexibility and availability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during production periods
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
