Seacrest Recovery Center is seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for observing and monitoring clients in treatment, ensuring their safety, and promoting an environment that supports recovery. BHTs must know each client’s location at all times and help ensure they remain free from harm and relapse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a positive role model and provide constructive feedback regarding facility and program rules in a professional and supportive manner.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients and staff.
- Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques and assist with AMA blocking when necessary.
- Transport clients to and from meetings, appointments, activities, grocery shopping, and other approved locations.
- Support clients in developing essential life skills (e.g., cooking, cleaning, maintaining personal space, following a daily schedule, attending recovery meetings).
- Communicate any behavioral, safety, or housing concerns promptly to a supervisor while maintaining healthy and professional boundaries.
Qualifications:
- Passion for working with clients in recovery
- Experience working with individuals in recovery, behavioral health, or a similar setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- Basic understanding of addiction, recovery principles (including 12-Step or SMART Recovery), and behavioral health treatment.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of sobriety preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
