American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in Washington, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and active WA or Compact RN license.

Labor & Delivery unit within a Birthing Center that includes postpartum/mother-baby care, totaling 34 beds (2 triage beds, 14 postpartum beds, and 2 OR suites for C-sections)

Patient population includes high-risk obstetric patients at 33 weeks and above, including preeclampsia, diabetic, psych/social, and positive illicit substance use cases

Unit averages 150–180 births per month

AWHONN staffing ratios are followed: 1:2 for L&D and 1:3–4 for mother-baby couplets

RNs are required to titrate drips including Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin
-
EFM system used is Centricity Perinatal; PACU monitoring available post C-section
-
EMR is Epic; Epic class is part of orientation
-
12-hour day shifts; every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
-
Block scheduling available when requested

Standby/on-call required with a 45-minute response time
-
Floating within the department is required; travelers must be competent in postpartum care, baby transitions, and attending low-risk deliveries; no floating to NICU or outside the department

Active WA state or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses will not be accepted

Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP; intermediate or advanced FHM preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required; candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered if they have multiple prior travel assignments
-
Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently, circulating in C-sections, assisting with catching and transitioning newborns
-
Experience titrating OB drips (Magnesium, Pitocin, Insulin) required

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

Unit support includes a free charge nurse on both shifts, one surgical tech available 24/7, and a patient care assistant with clerical duties each shift
-
24/7 in-house OB/GYN hospitalist, NNP in the nursery, and OB anesthesia provider (with a call room on the unit)
-
Orientation consists of an 8-hour compliance day with the manager, an 8-hour Epic class, and 2–3 twelve-hour unit-specific orientation shifts

Scrubs are provided by the facility; a locker is also provided

Holiday rotation required alongside permanent staff

The unit manager provides active feedback to travelers and expects openness to facility workflows, policies, and procedures
