Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-precision sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and quality inspection to ensure products meet strict specifications. The CNC Laser Operator plays a vital part in delivering quality products efficiently and safely within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for each job.
- Program CNC laser systems using CAD/CAM software to produce complex parts according to blueprints and technical drawings.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Utilize hand tools, tooling, and fabrication equipment such as press brake machines as needed.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely for material handling when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards and best practices.
- Assist in assembly processes when necessary, ensuring components meet quality standards before final delivery.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC laser cutting, programming, and operation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in laser cutting and fabrication.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with tooling setup, sheet metal fabrication, and tooling management.
- Experience with quality inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to crane operation, hand tools usage, welding, fabrication equipment, and material handling.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
