Overview
N Zone Sports in the Moore Country area is seeking enthusiastic, patient and dedicated Youth Sports Coaches to join our team. This role involves guiding children and adolescents in various sports activities, fostering teamwork, skill development, and a positive attitude towards physical activity. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports, experience working with youth, and strong behavior management skills. We work with kids ages 2 to 15 years old, hours of availability are from 9:00am-11:00am mostly Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 2:30-4:00pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. Prior experience in coaching, teaching or related fields is highly desirable but not required. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young athletes' lives while promoting healthy lifestyles.
Responsibilities
- Lead and instruct children in various sports such as basketball, soccer, t-ball and flag football and other physical activities
- Develop age-appropriate training plans and lesson plans to improve skills and teamwork. MAKE SURE KIDS ARE HAVING FUN
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing rules and maintaining a safe environment
- Manage behavior effectively to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere
- Provide guidance on sportsmanship, discipline, and positive attitude development
- Assist with organizing sports events, competitions, and practice sessions
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding progress and upcoming activities
- Maintain equipment and ensure the cleanliness of activity areas
- Incorporate teaching techniques suitable for children with diverse needs and skill levels
Qualifications
- Prior experience in sports coaching, teaching physical education, or working with children is preferred
- Knowledge of various sports including basketball, baseball, soccer and flag football or related activities is a plus
- Strong behavior management skills to handle diverse student needs effectively
- Experience working with students in educational or recreational settings is highly desirable
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, patience, and enthusiasm for youth development
- Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus but not mandatory
- Passion for promoting health, fitness, and teamwork among young athletes
- MUST BE ABLE TO PASS NC DCDEE BACKGROUND CHECK TO WORK IN PRESCHOOLS
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6.0 – 12.0 per week
