Alixandra Collections is primarily a women's accessory store but also has formats that feature women's clothing, apothecary and jewelry. The Company has been successful because it offers shoppers a variety of price points all of which offer strong values to the shopper. The stores feature both top designer name brands as well as local, up and coming designers. Moms, daughters and grand mothers often shop together and highlight the wide appeal of the inventory.
The Retail Store Manager reports to Company owner and is responsible for the assigned store location. She/ He is accountable for contributing to the overall profitability of ShopAlix and always favorably representing the Corporation. This key management role impacts nearly all portions of the business and therefore requires the individual to be a model to other associates, an effective communicator and posses an ability to consistently deliver results. Success in this role is achieved through the delivery of sales and inventory targets, establishing a loyal customer base, development of an effective team and maintaining the store’s brand feel. This individual will be relied upon as an expert and source for the local trends and customer requirements and is able to articulate that feedback to their manager. Most importantly, the store manager is responsible for ensuring customers, associates, vendors and the local community understand and grasp the Alixandra Collections experience.
Job Responsibilities
1. Sales
§ Deliver sales targets (daily, weekly, monthly, annual)
§ Submit daily, end of period and end of month sales reports
§ Effective physical inventory management
- Pro- actively regulate store inventory
- Limit damage and theft
- Bi- annual store inventory update
- Manage return authorizations
2. Customer
§ Cultivate a strong customer following for both the store and personally
§ Set the proper tone and customer service orientation for direct reports
§ Understand local trends and preferences
§ Effective conflict resolution
§ Ingratiate yourself in the community
§ Create events that drive increased store traffic and purchases
§ Follow up on special requests and orders
3. Associates
§ Schedule appropriate floor coverage
§ Responsible for hiring, coaching, developing and managing all associates
§ Ensure all team members are aware of daily sales targets
§ Clearly articulate job responsibilities and expectations
§ Monitor performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching
§ Effective and complete new hire orientation
§ Effective conflict resolution
§ Termination of unproductive employees (with approval from owner)
§ Maintain staff files
4. Store
§ Ensure strong floor merchandising
§ Adhere to established opening and closing procedures
§ Monitor and maintain appropriate supply levels
§ Maintain a clean store (selling floor, back room etc.) that well represents the Company
§ Create and run special in store events and promotions
5. Product
§ Have a strong knowledge of product lines
§ Know the story behind key designers
§ Provide honest and effective feedback on product match to customer
§ Share product knowledge with associates
§ All of the above responsibilities are to be completed in a thorough manner and on time in the approved Alixandra Collections format.
§ Store Manager performs/completes other project, duties and assignments as requested by manager
