Job Summary
We’re seeking a passionate, experienced Barista to join our team at Alkemy Coffee Co. The ideal candidate has a genuine love for coffee, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is commitment to creating a warm, memorable customer experience.
In this role, you’ll craft high-quality coffee and espresso beverages, prepare simple food items including breakfast sandwiches and pastries, and help maintain a clean, welcoming café space.
This position prefers hands-on experience with dialing in espresso, steaming milk to create smooth microfoam, and executing latte art with consistency. A strong sense of hospitality, the ability to work efficiently during busy service, and pride in your craft are essential.
*Weekend availability is required*
Responsibilities
- Dial in espresso daily and adjust throughout shifts to ensure consistency and quality
- Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and apothecary-inspired beverages to recipe standards
- Steam milk to proper temperature and texture, creating smooth, high-quality microfoam
- Batch brew iced coffee and teas
- Deliver a warm, welcoming customer experience rooted in genuine hospitality
- Accurately take orders and maintain flow during busy service periods
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace, including bar, equipment, and café areas
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Support team operations and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment
Skills & Qualifications
- 6–12 months barista experience preferred
- Ability to dial in espresso on a manual machine and consistently produce quality shots
- Skilled in milk steaming and creating proper microfoam (latte art is a plus)
- Comfortable learning and executing a detailed menu with consistency
- Strong customer service skills with an engaging, professional presence
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
- Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards
- Genuine passion for quality coffee, tea, and the Alkemy experience.
