Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and reconciling sales at shift end
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales and improve customer experience
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and support merchandising efforts to maintain an attractive store layout
- Assist with product demos to educate customers about new or featured items
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries or coordinating store activities
Requirements
- Prior experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus for leadership roles
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are highly valued
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is essential
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, giving correct change, and balancing cash drawers accurately
- Knowledge of retail store product offerings and merchandising techniques
- Ability to perform retail math calculations quickly and accurately
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise as needed
- Strong phone etiquette and professional communication skills for engaging with customers and team members
