About the Role:
The Veterinary Technician/Assistant plays a critical role in supporting veterinarians by providing high-quality medical care to animals in a clinical setting. This position involves performing a variety of technical tasks such as collecting samples, administering medications, treatments, and assisting during surgeries to ensure the well-being and recovery of patients. The Veterinary Technician/assistant also educates pet owners on treatment plans while fostering a compassionate and informative environment. Attention to detail and strong observational skills are essential to monitor animal health and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies. Ultimately, the Veterinary Technician/Assistant contributes significantly to the overall success of the veterinary practice by combining medical expertise with empathetic client communication and teamwork.
Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care including surgical procedures/monitoring anesthesia

Able to accurately perform laboratory tests and radiographic studies

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Proficient in venipuncture (phlebotomy and IV catheter placement)

Safely perform the induction, monitoring, and recovery of surgical patients

Maintain medical records with accuracy and professionalism
Qualifications:

Licensed Veterinary Technicians are preferred

Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication/customer service skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well both independently and as part of a team

Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
