Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (DOT Certified)
Part-Time | $70-$85 per Hour | Day Shift | Travel Required (Deptford, Bordentown, Linden)

We are seeking a DOT Certified Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner to join a growing occupational health team providing services to commercial drivers and employer clients throughout the region. This position offers a flexible part-time schedule, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work independently while making a meaningful impact on employee health and workplace safety.
This role involves traveling to employer locations and clinic sites to conduct DOT physicals and occupational health services. Providers can expect to see approximately 1 to 3 client locations per shift, with travel distances varying based on client needs and scheduling.
What You'll Do
As an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner, you will serve as a trusted healthcare provider for commercial drivers and workforce populations by conducting medical evaluations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting workplace health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform DOT physical examinations in accordance with FMCSA guidelines
- Determine driver medical qualification and issue DOT medical certificates
- Review medical histories and supporting documentation for certification decisions
- Conduct pre-employment, return-to-work, fitness-for-duty, and respirator clearance examinations
- Perform federal drug and alcohol testing when required
- Evaluate and treat minor workplace injuries and illnesses
- Provide wound care, splinting, suturing, and other basic occupational health services
- Coordinate return-to-work recommendations and communicate restrictions as appropriate
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Travel to client locations, mobile sites, and clinics as scheduled
Qualifications
Required
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (Family, Adult, or Acute Care)
- Current National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) certification
- Ability and willingness to travel between client locations
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred
- 1+ years of Occupational Health, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care, or Employee Health experience
- Experience performing DOT physical examinations
- Experience managing work-related injuries and workers' compensation cases
- Proficiency with EMR documentation
